3M Committed to Future
Sustainability is Key for 3M CEO Inge Thulin
A projected growth under three percent over the next twelve months did not deter 3M from investing $150 million into the brand-new Carlton Science Center. The state-of-the-art research and development facility will be home to over 700 scientists across 3M's 46 technology platforms on its Maplewood, Minnesota campus.
"The heartbeat of 3M is research and development. The building is an investment in the company's future," 3M CEO, Inge Thulin, told KARE11 Minneapolis during a recent interview. Thulin also expressed excitement regarding three specific platforms - air pollution, clean water, and food safety. He believes 3M can help be a solutions provider from a product perspective.
